Chris Janson and his co-writers were getting ready to write when they started to be grumbly and negative. So, jokingly, Chris Janson said, ‘Good Vibes Only’, and an idea was born! Chris says, “and that’s where the song came from. You know, people have been saying it’s a very timely message, but I think that all songs are timely. I mean, we needed good vibes 20 years ago. We need them tomorrow. We need them now. We’re gonna need them in 20 more years. We need them all the time.”
