Blake Shelton – Minimum Wage

After Blake Shelton unveiled the tune during a New Year’s Eve special broadcast on NBC, the song was met with some backlash. After some people saw the title, they assumed it was about the controversy surrounding minimum wage, claiming it was insensitive and ill-timed.  However, the song is not about anything other than a simple love song! ‘Minimum Wage’ presents itself as a love song telling the story of a couple who don’t have a lot of a money. 

Blake told CMT: “I just feel like these days, there are people out there who don’t want to know the truth. They just want to hear what they want to hear, and they want to pick a fight.”
