A story made headlines last week about a mother who paid her son $1,800 to stay off of social media until he was 18. She said she was inspired by a challenge she heard on the radio called the “16 for 16” where a mother paid her daughter $1,600 to stay off of social media. She says she did it so her son could spend more time focusing on his sports and grades.
